Light and reflections (annex 2.b and 2.c)

  • Lighting must be sufficient and balanced between the screen and its surroundings, without glare or reflections.
  • The INSST guide puts the average light at the workstation between 300 and 500 lux: 300 if you work mainly on screen and 500 if mainly on paper.
  • Windows must not dazzle you or reflect on the screen, and must have adjustable curtains or blinds.

Noise, heat and air (annex 2.d to 2.g)

Equipment noise must not disturb attention or speech, devices must not give off uncomfortable heat and humidity must be acceptable.

Software (annex 3)

  • Suited to the task and easy to use.
  • No system that checks how much or how you work may be used without telling you first and consulting your representatives.
In practiceThe window is right behind your screen and the backlight makes it look «black». The right fix is to turn the desk so the window is to your side, parallel to your line of sight.
