Hablar por teléfono cuesta más que en persona: no ves gestos ni labios. El B1 incluye participar en conversaciones por teléfono y tomar notas de mensajes telefónicos para otra persona (Real Decreto 1041/2017, anexo I).
Contestar
- Good morning, Hotel Mar, Laura speaking. How can I help you? Al teléfono se dice Laura speaking (soy Laura), no I am Laura.
- May I ask who's calling? (¿De parte de quién?)
- Could you hold the line, please? o Hold on, please. (No cuelgue, por favor.)
- I'll put you through. (Le paso.)
Cuando no está la persona
- I'm afraid she's not available at the moment. (Lo siento, ahora no está disponible.)
- Can I take a message? (¿Quiere dejar un mensaje?)
- Could you give me your phone number? Y repítelo para confirmar: So that's 6-0-0, 1-2-3…
Si no entiendes
Es normal y no pasa nada por decirlo: Sorry, could you repeat that, please? o Could you speak more slowly, please? Para comprobar un dato: Could you spell that, please? (¿Me lo deletrea?).
Videollamadas
- You're on mute. (Tienes el micro silenciado.)
- Can you see my screen? (¿Ves mi pantalla?)
- Sorry, you're breaking up. (Perdona, se corta.)
- I'll send you the link. (Te mando el enlace.)
